A chance trip to Germany in 1957 and the discovery of Bernard Anton Nowak’s retreading process offered the opportunity. Quality and durability were proven on the race tracks and salt flats where product failure could mean swift and deadly consequences.The true tests came with millions of miles by fleets all over the world.
