Rockwell Collins,
75 Years of Innovation

Arthur Collins was a genius. A genius that
was manifested early in his teenage years. Collins built his own radio receiving equipment in his home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In 1924, at age 15, Collins was the only person able to communicate with the MacMillan Expedition to the Arctic. Collins would telegraph messages on to Washington D.C.

In 1931, at age 22, Collins took his hobby of building radio equipment and turned it into a vocation. As they say, the rest is history. Collins Radio Company became an avionics giant before it was acquired by Rockwell International in 1973.

Now 75 years after Collins Radio was incorporated in 1933, Rockwell Collins remains a worldwide provider of communications and avionics technology for airlines, airline manufacturers and military aircraft.
