Making Waves — The People and Places of Iowa Broadcasting.

It all began in 1922 when Col. Bartlett Joshua Palmer purchased the rights to a Rock Island radio station and moved it across the river to Davenport as part of his Palmer School of Chiropractic and became the first commercial radio station in Iowa.

Making Waves, The People and Places of Iowa Broadcasting chronicles the nearly a century of technology and the people that brought news, talk show, entertainment and sports to the listeners and viewers told by a wonderful storyteller, Jeff Stein. The volume is accompanied by a CD of classic historic snippets of Iowa’s broadcasting history.
